I'm often asked when and why I started writing. The path was neither traditional nor one I was eager to walk at the time. When Afghanistan fell to the Taliban in August of 2021, I found myself glued to the keyboard in an attempt to churn out stories of the men I knew there, Afghan interpreters and soldiers trapped in Kabul. I also worked to bring awareness to a parallel struggle here at home: veteran moral injury. Honing the craft of humanization became a singular goal of mine and one I continue to pursue in my writing. I look forward to sharing current works as they find their way to the page.
